Terms of use
Last updated 22 October 2026.
About these terms
These terms apply to your use of energysums.co.uk ("EnergySums", "we", "us"), run by an independent sole operator based in the UK. By using the site you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Estimates only, not financial advice
Our calculators and guides give general estimates based on averages and simplified models. They are for information only and are not financial, investment, tax, legal or professional advice. They can't account for your property, usage or circumstances. Get independent advice and written quotes from qualified installers before making decisions.
Accuracy of data
We take reasonable care to keep figures accurate and up to date, and we list our sources and the date of each update. However, prices, tariffs, grants and rules change often, and we can't guarantee that any figure is complete, accurate or current.
Our liability
You use the site and its results at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, including decisions about purchases, tariffs, installations or finance. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under English law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Intellectual property
The site's text, design, code and calculators belong to EnergySums unless stated otherwise. You may use them for personal, non-commercial purposes and share links to our pages. You may not copy, republish or sell substantial parts of the site without our permission. Third-party data remains the property of its owners.
External links
We link to third-party websites such as Ofgem, GOV.UK and energy suppliers. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Some links may in future be affiliate links, which will be clearly labelled.
Changes
We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version on this page with a new date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
