Who we are

EnergySums (energysums.co.uk) is run by an individual sole operator based in the UK, who is the data controller for this website. You can contact us at hello@energysums.co.uk (see also our contact page).

Calculator inputs

All calculations run in your browser. The numbers you type into our calculators are not sent to us or stored.

What we collect

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-focused and doesn't use cookies, to count page views in aggregate.

Cookies

We don't currently set any cookies. If we add advertising or affiliate links in future, these may use cookies or similar technologies. We'll update this policy and, as the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require, ask for your consent first for any cookies that aren't strictly necessary.

Third-party links

We link to official and third-party sites such as Ofgem, GOV.UK and suppliers. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, email hello@energysums.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Retention

We hold no personal data beyond the hosting logs managed by Cloudflare under its own retention policy. If you email us in future, we'll keep your correspondence only as long as needed to respond.
